In Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others
Romans 12 v 5
Every Christian needs a spiritual home in which to grow and be nurtured, to serve and be served. We hope that you will find your home in one of our congregations and that you will prayerfully consider joining us.
Will you join us?
Notice of revision of the Parish (Electoral) Roll 2022
In Anglican Churches we mark our membership of a local church by joining the parish (electoral) roll. This is open to anyone over the age of 16 who has been baptised and is either resident in the parish or has been attending church in the parish for at least 6 months.
There are further details on the application form below which you need to return to the church office by Tuesday 12 April. If you have any queries, do feel free to contact Martin Paxton, the Electoral Roll Officer
NB. If you have completed a form since 2019, you do not need to do it again.
The next full revision of the roll will be in 2025.
Notice of Annual District Church Meeting
Sunday 24 April 11.15 am
This will follow a joint morning service at 10am
St Mary’s Chesham and St John‘s Bellingdon form one of five Districts in the Parish of Great Chesham. All members of the Parish Electoral Roll who attend either St Marys’ or St John’s are invited to join us for our Annual District Church Meeting. At this meeting we elect those who will serve as District Wardens for the coming year, as well as District Council Members and those who will represent the District on the Parochial Church Council. We hear reports on the mission and ministry of the churches over the last year and review our finances.
The formal notice of the meeting, the agenda, minutes of the last meeting and nomination forms will be available to church members on the link below (or in the church porch). You will need to log in and then go to Resources/St Mary’s/Team Documents/DCC/ADCM 2022
If you wish to nominate someone for office please ensure they are willing to stand and send their name, along with the names of the person nominating them and seconding the nomination, to Lynette in the parish office.
There will also be an Annual Parochial Church Meeting (of the full Parish of Great Chesham) on Wednesday 27 April at 8pm. Further details will be available here in due course.
Joining
In Anglican Churches we mark our membership of a local church by joining the parish (electoral) roll. It entitles you to vote in church elections and to stand for the parochial church council. If you live outside the parish you will need to come for six months before signing up.
Serving
As a member of the church, it is our aim to help you use and develop the gifts God has given you in the mission and ministry of the church. Please let us know what you think you could do! There are plenty of opportunities to get involved.
Giving
The financial support of St Mary’s is entirely dependent upon the giving of the congregations, so we do ask everyone to prayerfully consider how they can support St Mary’s ministry and mission financially and you can find out how to do that here.
